WEST MIDLANDS REGIONAL SWIMMING CHAMPIONSHIPS

29th/30th April, 1st/6th/7th May 2017

Coventry Sports Centre was the venue as the Age group squad and some of the Elite squad pitted their wits against the best in the West Midlands. Under a new format and with medals at stake over 5 long days the swimmers fitness and racing prowess would undergo a stern test.

Overall this was a fantastic effort by all the swimmers. There were some outstanding individual swims, particularly in the finals, where the ability to step up to another level shone through from our many finalists. This has shot some of our swimmers up the British rankings as we move in to the later stages of the qualifying window for the end of season Championships.

The coaching team were pleased the swimmers looked strong, skilful and were taking great care in their preparation and recovery.

The medal haul was impressive. Showing an improvement year on year for the Age Group swimmers;-
